I’ve known Kasey for about five years and she is truly one of the kindest and most gentle-hearted people I know. I had the pleasure of spending time with AJ when we shot engagement photos and I could tell he has a a HUGE heart and so much room in it for Kasey. He’s also a lacrosse coach and happens to coach some of my friends’ kids!
These two planned the most perfect fall day for their friends and family at Riverbend in Lyons, and got the most gorgeous Colorado colors to go with it. It was truly the first cold day of fall, and the temperatures dropped about 30 degrees from the day before! But, it didn’t rain, and it didn’t snow, and we were all thrilled about that.

Kasey started her own floral company during the pandemic so naturally she put together her own flowers for the day. I love that she stuck to her favorite palette of white and pink, instead of the typical harvest colors, which complemented the fall colors and river rock in the most stunning way. Our friend Fernanda designed the Save the Date and Invitations and did a fantastic job, as always.

Watching Kasey and her mom put flowers on the cake through this open window frame was such a sweet moment.

AJ was absolutely smitten and their first look was one of the most emotional I have seen in all my years. They both cried and it took my breath away!

Then we were off for some couple portraits. Kasey wears heels all the time so these river rocks were no match for her.

Do you think AJ was happy? I’d say so! And every detail was so sweet and thoughtful.

And then it was time!

The sun came out for about 10 stunning moments during their ceremony, literally the only time all day, when it shown down on Kasey like the angelic woman she is (she truly is)! And it was like an acknowledgement from above, as it came right on the heels of a prayer for all the family members who had passed on and were there in spirit, including Kasey’s dad.

Kasey and AJ had a competitive round of rock, paper, scissors, to see who would do their vows first. AJ won.

Drinks were served by the beautiful Betty the Burro!

They had time to dance in the daylight by the river before dinner, which was a perfect way to end the day and kick off the evening.

As my assistant Annah and I walked to our cars, we could hear the raucous laughter coming from the big tent, and we knew the rest of their night was going to be very, very good. Congrats to Kasey and AJ!
